Preparation for the MUTA07 started in October 2006 with the setting up of a steering committee headed by Pn Junaidah as the Project Director and Cikgu Roslina as the Project Manager. The judges were elected from among the Tahfiz Instructors and the rest of the Kelab Kelas Tahfiz (KKT) committee members were assigned various tasks.

Initially December 25, 2006, was proposed as the date for the MUTA07 but after careful consideration, it was postponed to January 20, 2007. The date also coincides beautifully with Ma’al Hijrah.

The conceptual design of the event was developed based on the experiences of Cikgu Roslina. She had participated in numerous musabaqah tahfiz at various levels, up to the national level. The book of Rules and Regulations of the Musabaqah was created and it formed the basis for the event planning, preparation of marking forms, development of mark calculation software, and subsequent conduct of the musabaqah.

The pre-qualification round to select the finalist for the MUTA07 was held at the school on 10 and 11 January.

On the night before the MUTA07, the committee members of the KKT, the Tahfiz Instructors, and the elected judges of the MUTA07 gathered at the lounge of the Lecture Theatre 1 of the Masjid Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah for a briefing session and afterwards to prepare the lecture theatre for the musabaqah. En M Daud and Pn Roslina (Ili’s parents) and their young son, Amir, came along to help decorate the LT1; they brought along potted plants to decorate the stage. We started at 9:30pm with the briefing and then continued with preparing the stage of the lecture theater. We finished at 12:00am.
